Answer:

height is 4√10 and base is 16√10.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let height be H and base be B.

=> B = 4H & HB = 640

4H² = 640

H² = 160

Therefore, H = 4√10 and hence, B = 16√10

Given:-

  • The base of a parallelogram is 4 time of its corresponding height.
  • Area of the parallelogram is 640 sq cm.

To find:-

  • Find the base and the corresponding height of the parallelogram ?

Solutions:-

  • Let the base of Parallelogram be 'b' cm
  • Let the height of Parallelogram be 'h' cm

According to question:-

The base of a parallelogram is 4 time of its corresponding height.

=> b = 4h .......(1).

We know that,

The area of parallelogram = base × height

According to question:-

=> 640 = base × height

=> 640 = 4h × h (From equation .1)

=> 640 = 4h²

=> 640/4 = h²

=> 160 = h²

=> √160 = h

=> 12.64 = h

=> h = 12.64cm

Putting the value of 'h' in equation 1.

=> b = 4h

=> b = 4 × 12.64

=> b = 50.56cm

Hence, the base of the Parallelogram is 50.56 cm and height of the Parallelogram is 12.64cm.

Some Important:-

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral whose;

  • Opposite sides are equal.
  • Opposite sides are parallel.
  • Opposite angles are equal.
  • Adjacent angles sum up to 180°
  • Diagonal bisect each other.
