PARALLELOGRAMS ON THE SAME BASE AND BETWEEN THE SAME PARALLELS ARE EQUAL IN AREA.  ..................(i)IF A PARELLELOGRAM AND A TRIANGLE ARE ON THE SMAE BASE AND BETWEEN THE SAME PARALLES THEN THE AREA OF TRIANGLE IS HALF THE AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM.  ..........(ii)

GIVEN-AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM ABCD IS 90 CM2.

=>USING (i)

  AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABCD) = AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABEF)

=>AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABEF)= 90 CM2

=>USING (ii)

  AREA (TRIANGLE ABD)=1/2 AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABCD)

=>AREA (TRIANGLE ABD) =90*1/2

  =45 CM2

=>AS  AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABCD) = AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABEF)  ...................(USING i)

THEREFORE THEIR SIDES WILL BE EQUAL

SO, CD=EF

=>USING (ii)

  AREA (TRIANGLE BEF)=1/2 AREA (PARALLELOGRAM ABEF)

=>AREA (TRIANGLE BEF) =90*1/2

  =45 CM2
