Let breadth = b

Length = 115/100 × b

Area = L × B

460 = 115/100 b ×b

Shifting the numbers to LHS

400 = b^2

b = 20

netra45: but length = 115/100 kyu aa rha hai ???
Quicksilver007: 15% is increased. So new length will be (100+15)% of the original one. So 115/100 times L is the new length
Quicksilver007: 115/100 times B*
netra45: okay
netra45: thank you
Quicksilver007: Wlcm

Given :

The area of rectangle is 460

if the length is 15% more than the breadth

To Find :

what is the breadth of the rectangle

Solution:

Let the breadth of rectangle be x

So, Length = 15% more than the breadth

Length = x+0.15x=1.15x

Area of rectangle =Length \times Breadth = 1.15x \times x = 1.15x^2

We are given that the area of rectangle is 460

So,1.15x^2 = 460

x=\sqrt{\frac{460}{1.15}}

x=20

Hence The breadth of rectangle is 20 m
