Step-by-step explanation:

Given : the area of right angle triangle is 20sq ft and it's perimeter is 40ft

Solution: perpendicular legs =x,y

Area =1/2 xy =20

xy = 40

Hypotenuse = √x+ y

perimeter =x+y+√x+y=40

x+y =40- √x+y

= x+y +2xy = 1600+ x+y- 80

= 2xy =1600-80√x+y

= xy = 800-40√x+y

=40 = 800- 40√x+y

= 1 = 20- √x+y

√x+y = 10

Length of its hypotenuse = 19 ft
