Solution :-

Let

  • Perpendicular = P
  • Base = B
  • Hypotenuse = H

So,

→ (1/2) * P * B = 20

→ P•B = 40

and,

→ P + B + H = 40

→ P + B = (40 - H)

→ (P + B)² = (40 - H)²

→ P² + B² + 2P•B = 1600 + H² - 2•40•H

using pythagoras theorem,

→ H² + 2 * 40 = 1600 + H² - 80H

→ 80H = 1600 - 80

→ 80H = 1520

→ H = 19 (Ans.)
