area=261/4

length=12

breadth=??

area of room = length*breadth

261/4=12*b

therefore

b=261/48

b=5.43

\underline{\mathfrak{\huge{The\:Question\:is:}}}

The Area of a room is \tt{65\frac{1}{4} m^{2}}\\. The length given is equal to 12 metres. Find the breadth of the same room.

\underline{\mathfrak{\huge{Here's \:Your\:Answer:}}}

Let the breadth ( which is the value we need to find ) be equal to x

The Area of a rectangle ( or a rectangular room ) is the value we get after multiplying its length and breadth. This, in a form of a formula can be represented as:

Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth

Put the given values in the formula and then solve it. The Given values are :

Area = \tt{65\frac{1}{4} m^{2}}\\ = \tt{\frac{261}{4} m^{2}}\\

Length = 12 m

Put these value in the formula and then solve it:

=》 \tt{\frac{261}{4} = 12x}\\

=》 \tt{65.25 = 12x}

=》 \tt{x = 5.4375}m

The breadth will be equal to 5.4375 m.

The explanation I wrote in this answer isn't compulsory to even write in the examinations. You may simply write the given values, the formula, and then do simple derivation of the answer.
