the area of shaded region between two concentric circle is 264 cm^2. the sum of radii of two circle is 14 cm. find the difference of their radius

Given

R+r=14cm

Area of Shaded region = pi ( R²-r²)

R²-r²=264/pi

R²-r²=264x7/22

R²-r²=12x7

R²-r²=84cm

Now using a²-b²=(a+b) (a-b)

Here a=R and b=r

(R+r) (R-r) =84cm

Putting the Value of R+r =14 (given in question)

14(R-r)=84

R-r=84/14

R-r=6cm

Difference of there radii(R-r) =6cm
