Question : The area of square ABCD and rectangle PQRS are both equal to 81 cm square. if the breadth of PQRS is 3 cm, what is the length of both rectangle and square ?

Solution : Now according to question,

⟹ Area of rectangle PQRS = length * breadth

⟹ 81 = length * 3

⟹ length = 81/3

⟹ length = 27 cm

Hence length of rectangle PQRS is 27 cm.

Now, according to question

⟹ Area of square ABCD = Area of rectangle PQRS

⟹ (side)² = 81

⟹ side = √81

⟹ side = 9 cm.

Hence length of square ABCD is 9 cm.

Answer : The length of square ABCD is 9 cm and length of rectangle PQRS is 27 cm.

{Verification :

⟹ Area of square ABCD = Area of rectangle PQRS

⟹ (side)² = length * breadth

⟹ (9)² = 27 * 3

⟹ 81 = 81

Hence solution is verified. }
