Area of ABCD =16

Side=√16

Side=4

Then, CR =CD/2

And CB/2=CQ

Then, by Pythagoras theorem,

2²+2²=side²(of PQRS)

4+4=side²

√8=side²

2√2=side

Area =(2√2)²

Area =8cm²

I hope this much will help you

Given

Area of square ABCD=16cm²

To Find

  • Area of the square PQRS

SOLUTION

Area of the square=s×s sq.units

\implies{\rm}16=s×s

\implies{\rm}s=\sqrt{16}

\implies{\rm}s=4cm

We can say that,

CR=  \frac{CD}{2}

CQ=  \frac{CB}{2}

By the pythagoras theorem,

Side² = 2² + 2²

side² = 4 + 4

side² = 8

side=  \sqrt{8}

side = 2 \sqrt{2}

area =  {(2  \sqrt{2} )}^{2}

Area= 8cm²

Hope it helps you...
