Draw diagonal AC.

Length of diagonal = side√2 = 10√2 cm

In ∆ABC,

F is midpoint of BC.

By midpoint theorem,

EF = 1/2 AC = 1/2 × 10√2 cm = 5√2 cm

Area of square EFGH = (side)^2

= (5√2 cm)^2

= 25 × 2 sq. cm

= 50 sq. cm
