Firstly the figure is a square , so all of the sides should be equal

Let x be the length of one of the side,

Area=x²

Now,

x² = 576

x=√576

x=24

Now,

When the the square of length 24 m is cut through the center,

Length of the side formed = 12 m

So,

One of the side length will be 12 m and the other will be 24 m

Hence,

Two rectangles of length 24 m and breadth 12 m will be formed

Given:

Area = 576 sq.m

Cut horizontally into a shape

To find:

The length and breadth of the shape.

Solution:

Area of the square = ( Length of side )^2

( Length of side )^2 = 576

√576

Hence,

Length of a side = 24 m

When it  is cut horizontally,

Breadth = 24 / 2

Breadth = 12 m

If breadth = 12 m,

Then Length = 2 ( breadth )

2 ( 12 )

Length = 24 m

Hence, two rectangular shaped figures of length 24 m and breadth 12 m
