Question :- The area of the rectangle given below is 120 square metre. The length is 20 m and the breadth is x - 3. Find the value of x . ?

Solution :-

Given :-

• Length of Rectangle = 20m
• Breadth = (x - 3)m
• Area of Rectangle = 120m² .

As we know that,

→ Area of Rectangle = Length * Breadth

Putting all three values we get,

→ 20(x - 3) = 120

Dividing both sides by 20,

→ (x - 3) = 6

Taking 3 on RHS side and changing sign ,

→ x = 6 + 3

→ x = 9 (Ans.)

Therefore, value of x is 9.
