Given :-

  • Length of the rectangle = 16cm

  • Side of the square = 12cm

To Find :-

  • Area of the Square

  • Breadth of the rectangle

Formula :-

  • Area of the square = ( a )²

  • Area of the Rectangle = l × b

Where,

  • a = side of the square

  • l = length of the rectangle

  • b = Breadth of the rectangle

Solution :-

Area of the square = (a)²

⟹ (12cm)²

⟹ 144cm²

According to question, Both areas are equal

So, The area of square and rectangle is 144cm²

Area of the rectangle = l × b

Let, The breadth be 'b'

By substituting values,

⟹ 16cm × b = 144cm²

⟹ b = 144/16

⟹ b = 9cm

Hence, The Breadth of the rectangle is 9cm

Let's verify :-

Area of the rectangle = length × breadth

⟹ 16cm × 9cm = 144cm²

⟹ 144cm² ⇔ 144cm²

Hence, Verified
