the area of the rectangular field is 108m^2 and one of its side is 9m . how long will a boy take to complete a round along all the sides of rectangular field at the rate of 7 m/ minutes.

  • Speed of boy is 7 meter/minute.

Solution :-

→ First side of rectangular field = 9 meter

Let, second side of rectangular field be x

{Here we need to find sides of rectangle}

Now, according to formula of area of rectangle, [ Area of rectangle = length × breadth]

Here,

Area of rectangular field

= first side × second side

→ 108 = x × 9 i.e.

x = 108/9

x = 12 m

Let, length ( L ) and breadth ( B ) of rectangular field be 12 m and 9 m respectively.

Now, {we need to find perimeter of rectangular field}

Perimeter of rectangular field

= 2(L + B)

Perimeter of rectangular field

= 2(12 + 9)

Perimeter of rectangular field

= 2 ( 21 )

Perimeter of rectangular field

= 42 m

Now, {we need to convert speed of boy in standard unit m/s}

→ 7 meter/minute = {7/60} m/s

speed of boy = {7/60} m/s

Let, perimeter of rectangular field be the distance covered by boy.

→ distance covered by boy = 42 m

Now, {we use formula of speed}

→ Speed of boy = distance/time

→ 7/60 = 42/time

{divide both side by 7}

→ 1/60 = 6/time i.e.

→ time = 60 × 6

→ time = 360 sec

Hence, the boy take 360 sec to complete round along all the sides of rectangular field.
