Let Breadth of the playground =  x

 So Length = x+5 ( Length = Breadth +5 )

x × (x+5) = 500

x² + 5x - 500 = 0

Apply the quadratic formula (  x = - b ± √b²- 4ac ÷ 2a  )

x = - 5 ± √25 - ( 4 × 1 × - 500 ) ÷ 2 × 1

  =  - 5 ±√25 + 2000 ÷ 2

  =  - 5 ± √2025 ÷ 2

  =  - 5 ± 45 ÷ 2

  =  - 5 + 45 ÷ 2

  =    40 ÷ 2 = 20

So Breadth = x = 20 m

    Length = x+5 = 20 + 5 = 25 m

It took a long time to type this out.
