Answer:

Area of trapezium = 1/2(h)(b1+b2)

Let the other side be x. Then the parallel side is x+4

h = 11 cm

b1 = x

b2 = x+4

Area = 1/2(11)(x+x+4)

Area = 1/2(11)(2x+4) = 1/2(11) × 2(x+2) = 11(x+2)

Therefore area = 11(x + 2)

But area = 143 cm²

Equating both equations,

143 = 11(x + 2)

143/11 = x + 2

13 = x + 2

x = 13-2 = 11 cm

Therefore length of other side = x = 11 cm.

Answer:

Area of trapezium = 1/2(h)(b1+b2)

Let the other side be x. Then the parallel side is x+4

h = 11 cm

b1 = x

b2 = x+4

Area = 1/2(11)(x+x+4)

Area = 1/2(11)(2x+4) = 1/2(11) × 2(x+2) = 11(x+2)

Therefore area = 11(x + 2)

But area = 143 cm²

Equating both equations,

143 = 11(x + 2)

143/11 = x + 2

13 = x + 2

x = 13-2 = 11 cm

Therefore length of other side = x = 11 cm.
