Given,

area of trapezium= 210cm^²

A+B/2×h= 210 cm^²

let one parallel side = X

and other side = X+8. height= 5cm

so , according to formula

X+X+8/2×5= 210cm^²

(2x+8)×5= 420cm^²

10x+40= 420

10x= 420-40= 380

X= 380/10= 38

so, X= 38cm

one side = 38 cm

and other side= 38+8= 46cm

hope it help you

Answer:

Two parallel sides of trapezium 46 cm, 38 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Area of the trapezium is 210 cm

                    its height is 5 cm,

one of the parallel side is longer than the other by 8 cm

Here we need to find the two parallel sides

let x, y are be the parallel sides of the trapezium and if y < x

from given data  x = y +8

⇒ Area of the trapezium  =  \frac{1}{2} (side+side)h

                                          =  \frac{1}{2}( y+y+8)5

                                          = \frac{1}{2}(2y+8)5

⇒ from given data area = 210 cm

                             ⇒ \frac{1}{2} (2y+8)5 = 210

                             ⇒ (2y+8) = \frac{ 210(2)}{5}

                             ⇒ 2y+8 = 42(2)

                             ⇒ 2y = 84-8 =76

                             ⇒ y = 38

 y= 38 ⇒ x = 38+8 = 46

⇒  two parallel sides of trapezium x = 46 cm, y = 38 cm
