In this question we are required to first get the values of x and y.

Since these two Equations are simultaneous, we solve them simultaneously to get the value of x and y.

Solving these two Equations simultaneously we have :

{5x + 7y=35} ×4
{4x + 3y=12}×5

20x + 28y=140.......i
20x + 60y=60.........ii

Subtracting ii from i we get:

13y=80

y=80/13

4x + 3(80/13)=12
4x=-240/13 + 12=-84/13

x=-84/13 × 1/4=-21/13

The value of x represents the base of the triangle whereas the value of your represents the height of the triangle.

A = 1/2 ×b×h

1/2 × 80/13 × 21/13=1680/338
840/169square units.

Note:we take the absolute value of x since area is positive.
