SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The area of the triangle formed by below the line with both the axes

\displaystyle\sf{ \frac{x}{2}  +  \frac{y}{5}  = 1}

EVALUATION

Here the given equation of the line is

\displaystyle\sf{ \frac{x}{2}  +  \frac{y}{5}  = 1}

This is of intercept form

The line cuts X axis at A(2,0) and Y axis at B(0,5)

Thus the triangle formed is ABC

Now ABC is a right angled triangle

So the required area

\displaystyle\sf{ =  \frac{1}{2} \times 2 \times 5 \:  \:  \:  \: sq.unit }

\displaystyle\sf{ = 5 \:  \: sq.unit }
