3x + 4y = 20 (i)

x - 2y = 0 (ii)

x = 0 (iii)

Solving (i) and (ii)

x = 4 , y = 2

So the point is A(4, 2)

Solving (ii) and (iii)

x = 0, y = 0

So the point is B(0, 0)

Solving (i) and (iii)

x = 0, y = 5

So the point is C(0, 5)

If we plot these points on a graph paper we will find that triangle ABC is formed with base = BC = 5 cm and altitude = 4 cm

So Area of the triangle = 1/2 × 5 × 4 = 10 cm²
