area \: of \: triangle \: = \frac{1}{2} ( {x}_{1}( {y}_{2} - {y}_{3} ) + {x}_{2}( {y}_{ 3} - {y}_{1}) + {x}_{3}( {y}_{1} - {y}_{2})

here,

  • x1 = 5, x2 = -9, x3 = -3
  • y1 = 2, y2 = -3, y3 = -5

substituting values in the formula,

area

= 1/2(5(-3-(-5) + (-9)(-5-2) + (-3)(2-(-3)

= 1/2(5(-3+5) -9(-5-2) -3(2+3)

= 1/2(5(2) -9(-7) -3(5)

= 1/2(10 + 63 - 15)

= 1/2(58)

= 29
