We know that,

Area of Δ = 1/2 [x₁(y₂ - y₃) + x₂(y₃ - y₁) + x₃(y₁ - y₂)]

Given that,

x₁ = 2                   y₁ = 0

x₂ = 6                  y₂ = 0

x₃ = 4                  y₃ = 6

Therefore,

Area of Δ = 1/2 [2(0-6) + 6(6-0) + 4(0-0)]

Area of Δ = 1/2 [-12 + 36 + 0]

Area of Δ = 1/2 * 24

Area of Δ = 12 sq. units
