Given : triangle formed by the x-axis, the y-axis and the line representing x+y=8

To Find : area of the triangle

Solution:

x  axis   means y = 0

x + y = 8

=> x = 8

( 8 , 0 ) is intersection the point

y axis means x = 0

x + y = 8

=> y = 8

(0 , 8) is the intersection  point

x  axis   means y = 0

y axis means x = 0

=> ( 0 , 0) is the intersection points

Triangle formed is right angle triangle

with base and height = 8  unit

Area of triangle = (1/2) * base * height

= (1/2) * 8 * 8

= 32  sq units
