the x-axis, the y-axis and the graph

Answer:

The line x-y = 5 intersects x axis , say at A is by putting y= 0 in the equation i.e x= 5 unit

The line intersects y axis , say at point B is obtained by putting x= 0 i.e. y= -5 unit (towards negative Y axis).

The centre of X-Y coordinates if is O , the triangle formed is OAB where OA = 5 and OB = 5 in the 4th quadrant and it's a right angle triangle where angle AOB is 90° and so OA can be considered as base and OB is its height

The area of triangle OAB is then 1/2* base * height or 1/2 * 5 unit* 5 unit or 12.5 sq.unit
