The area of the  ΔABC with vertices 

A(x1,y1)=(3,0),B(x2,y2)=(7,0) & C(x3,y3)=(8,4)is 

Ar.ΔABC=21[x1(y2−y3)+x2(y3−y1)+x3(y1−y2)]

=21{3(0−4)+7(4−0)+8(0−0)} sq.units =8 sq. units.
