let, the smaller one of the parallel sides = x .


area of trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides ) .distance b/w them .


you are given ,
area = 180 cm sq .
height = 9 cm .
we consider the smaller side = x cm .
longer side = x +6 cm .
180 = 1/2×(x+x+6)(9) .
360 = (2x +6 ) (9) .
360/9 = 2x +6 .
40 = 2x +6 .
40-6 = 2x .
2x = 34.
x = 17 .
smaller side = 17 .
longer. side = 17+6 .
=23.
