The area of trapezium is 24 cm² and height is 2 cm. If the length of one of it's parallel side is 8 cm. Find the length of the other parallel side.

\dag\:\underline{\sf Answer:-} \\

\star \: Given:- \left[\begin{array}{ccc}Area \: of \: trapezium \: = 24 cm^2\\Height = 2 cm\\Length \: of \: a \: parallel \: side = 8 cm\end{array}

\star \: To find:-  Length \: of \: the \: other \: parallel \: side

\star \: Solution:-

We know that,

  Area \: of \: trapezium = \frac{1}{2} \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) (Height)

Let 'h' be the height of the trapezium.

Let 'l₁' be the length of one of the parallel sides of the trapezium.

Let 'l₂' be the length of the other parallel side of the trapezium.

Area = \frac{1}{2} (l_{1} + l_{2})(h)\\24 = \frac{1}{2} (8 + l_{2}) (2)\\24 = 8 + l_{2}\\l_{2} = 24 - 8\\l_{2} = 16 \: cm

∴ Length of the other parallel side is 16 cm.

Hope this helps! ♡
