the area of trapezium is 270 cm if the ratio of lengths of parallel side are 3:2 and perpendicular distance is 12 cm find the lengths of the parallel sides

Answer:

let the sides are 3x and 2x

Now area of trapezium =sum of parallel sides X distance between them

270=(3x+2x) X 12

270=5x X 12

270/12=5x

22.5=5x

22.5/5=x

4.5=x

now sides are

3x =3 X 4.5=13.5 cm

2x =2 X 4.5=9 cm
