Given :-

Area of trapezium = 300 m²

The perpendicular distance between the two parallel sides is 15m if the difference of parallel sides is 16m

To Find :-

Length of parallel side

Solution :-

Let the parallel sides be x and x - 16

Area = 1/2 × (a + b) h

300 = 1/2 × (x - 16 + x) × 15

300 = 1/2 × (2x - 16) × 15

300 × 2/15 = (2x - 16)

20 × 2 = 2x - 16

40 = 2x - 16

40 + 16 = 2x

56 = 2x

56/2 = x

28 = x

First parallel side = x = 28 m

Second parallel side = x - 16 = 28 - 16 = 12 m
