Step-by-step explanation:

Area of trapezium = 1/2 (sum of parallel sides) × height

Let other side be a

Hence, 34 = 1/2 (10 + a) × 4

Solve for a to find side

Given :-

  • Area of trapezium is 34cm
  • length of one parallel side is ( a ) 10cm
  • Height is 4cm

To Find :-

  • other parallel side = ?

Solution :-

\sf<strong> </strong><strong>†</strong><strong>Area</strong> \:<strong>of</strong> \:<strong>trapezium</strong> = \frac{1}{2}(a+b)×h

\sf → 34 = \frac{1}{2}(10+b)×4

\sf → 34 = (10+b)2

\sf→ 34 = 20+2b

\sf→ 2b = 34 - 20

\sf→ 2b = 14

\sf→ b = \frac{14}{2}

\sf→ b = 7cm

Hence :-

  • other parallel side = 7cm
