Correct question:-

The area of a trapezium is 360m²,the distance between two parallel sides is 20m and one of the parallel side is 25m. Find the other parallel side.

Given:-

→Area of a trapezium=360m²

→Distance between parallel sides=20m

→One of the parallel sides=25m

To find:-

→Other parallel side

Solution:-

Here,area of the trapezium,distance between the parallel sides i.e. height of the trapezium and one parallel side is given. In order to find another parallel side , we shall firstly know the formula to find area of a trapezium.

Area of a trapezium:-

=>1/2×(sum of parallel sides)×

(Distance between them)

Let the required side be x

=>1/2×(25+x)×20= 360

=>10(25+x)=360

=>250+10x=360

=>10x=360-250

=>10x=110

=>x=110/10

=>x=11

Thus,the other parallel side is 11m.

the area of trapezium is 360m² the distance between two parallel side is 20m and one of the parallel side is 25m ..find the other parallel side..

 \bold{ \underline{ \underline {given : }}}

  • distance between two parallel side,h = 20m
  • one parallel side ,a = 25m
  • area of trapezium ,a = 360m²

 \bold{ \underline{ \underline{to \: find : }}}

  • other side of trapezium,b = ??

we know that..

 \bold{area \: of \: trapezium =  \frac{1}{2} (a + b) \times h}

  \bold{\implies \:  360 =  \frac{1}{2} (25 + b) \times 20}  \:  \:  \:  \\\ \bold{ \implies  \bold{ 360 = 10(25 + b) } \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: }   \:  \:  \:  \:\\  \bold{ \implies 36 = 25 + b  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: }  \\ \bold{  \implies \: b = 36 - 25 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: }  \\   \bold{\implies \: b = 11 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: }

so other side of trapezium is 11m
