The area of trapezium is 384 cm sq .It's parallel sides are in the ratio 3:5 and the perpendicular distance them is 12cm.Find the length of each of the parallel sides.

area of trapezium =1/2×height×(3x+5x)
384cm sq.=1/2×12cm×8x
384=6cm×8x
384÷6=8x
64=8x
64÷8=x
8=x

so..length of parallel sides are 3x=3×8=24cm
5x=5×8=40cm
