The area of trapezium is 384 cmsq. Its parallel sides are in the ratio 3:5 and the distances between them is 12 cm. Find the length of each parallel sides

area=0.5(a+b)h

a/b=3/5

a=3b/5

384=0.5((3b/5)+b)12

b=40

given a/b=3/5

hence a=24

lengths of 2 parllel sides r 24,40
