Given :

Area of Trapezium = 475 cmsq

height = 19 cm

Find:

Length of it's two parallel sides , if one side is greater than the other by 4 cm.

Area of Trapezium = 1/2x (a+b)xh

a+b = Length of parallel sides

475 = 1/2x(x+x+4)x19

475/19=1/2x(2x+4)

25x2/1=(2x+4)

50=2x+4

50-4=2x

46=2x

x=46/2

x=23

Hope this helps you :)

Answer:

i guess

your answer

area of trapezium = 475 cm sq ( given )

formula = 1/2 × ( sum of parallel side ) × height

let the parellel sides be x and 2x respectively

area= 1/2 × ( 4+x+x) × 19

=475 = 1/2 × ( 4+x + x) × 19

=475/ 19 = 1/2 × ( 4+x)

= 25 = 1/2 × 4+x

= 25 = 4+x

= 25-4 =x

= 23 = x

x = 23

x+4 = 27
