EXPLANATION.

 \sf \implies \: area \: of \: trapezium = 480 {cm}^{2} \\ \\ \sf \implies \: its \: parallel \: sides \: are \: = 48cm \: \: \: and \: \: 72cm

To find the distance between them.

 \sf \implies \: area \: of \: trapezium = \dfrac{1}{2} \times (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) \times (height) \\ \\ \sf \implies \: 480 = \frac{1}{2} \times ( 48 + 72) \times (height) \\ \\ \sf \implies \: 480 = \frac{1}{ \cancel{2}} \times ( \cancel{120}) \times (height) \\ \\ \sf \implies \: 480 = 60 \times (height) \\ \\ \sf \implies \: height = 8 \: cm
