Answer :

  • other parallel sides is 44 cm

Given :

  • The area of trapezium is 480 cm²
  • The distance two parallel sides is 15cm means height of trapezium
  • one parallel sides sides is 20cm

To find :

  • other parallel sides

Solution :

As we know that:

  • Area of tapezium = a+b/2 × h

where , a and b is parallel sides and h is height . so , parallel sides are 20cm , height is 15cm and area of trapezium is 480

↣Area of trapezium = a + b/2 × h

↣ 480 = 20 + b/2 × 15

↣ 480 × 2 = 20 + b × 15

↣ 960 = 20 + b × 15

↣ 960/15 = 20 + b

↣ 64 = 20 + b

↣ 64 - 20 = b

↣ 44 = b

↣ b = 44

Hence other parallel sides is 44 cm

More Explanation:

  • Trapezium is a closed figure
  • In which 2 sides are parallel
  • it consists of 4 sides
  • Two opposite sides are equal but not parallel
  • Area of trapezium = a + b/2 × h
  • perimeter of trapezium = A + B = C + D
