Answer:

Area of trapezium =68 cm^2

Sum of parallel sides*height=1/2*(b+a)h

Step-by-step explanation:

68=1/2(10+x)8

68/8=10+x

10+x=8.5

x=10-8.5

x=10.0-8.5

x=1.5

Hope it will help you

Given:

The area of trapezium is 68 sq. cm.

The height of trapezium is 8 cm

Length of one parallel side is 10cm

To Find:

The length of the other side

Solution:

  • A trapezium consists of four sides.
  • Out of four sides two opposite sides are parallel and the other two opposite sides are non parallel.
  • Area of trapezium is Half the sum of its parallel sides multiplied by its height.

Area of trapezium

= 1/2*(sum of its parallel sides)*Height

According to Question

One parallel side is 10cm

Let the other parallel side be l

So,

Area of the Trapezium = 1/2*(10+l)*8

68 =(8/2)*(10+l)

68/4 = (10+l)

17 = 10+l

l =17-10

l = 7

Hence, the other side is 7cm
