Answer:

Area of trapezium is 850 cm

length is 34 cm

height is 20 cm

length of other side is

1/2 (34+x) *20 =850

1/2(34+x) 10 =850

34*10 +x*10 =850

340 +10x= 850cm

10x=850-340

10x=510

x=510/10

x=51

Question :-

  • The area of trapezium is 850cm² and length of one of the parallel side is 34 cm and its height is 20cm find the length of the other parallel side.

ㅤ‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Given that :-

  • Area of trapezium = 850 cm²
  • Length of parallel side = 34 cm.
  • Height = 20 cm.

ㅤ‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

To find :-

  • Length of other parallel side.

ㅤ‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Formula to be used :-

  • Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (Sum of parallel sides) × height.

ㅤ‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Solution :-

Let's substitute the value in the formula :-

Area = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × height

  • Let's assume one parallel side to be x.

850 = 1/2 × (34 + x) × 20

850 × 2 = (34 + x) × 20

1700 = 680 + 20x

1700 - 680 = 20x

1020 = 20x

x = 1020/20

x = 51

Therefore, length of other parallel side = x = 51 cm.
