Hi

Here is your answer

area of trapezium is :-

 \frac{sum \: of \: parallel \: sides \: \times height}{2}

so

 \frac{(20 + x) \times 15}{2} = 480

(20 + x) = \frac{480 \times 2}{15 } \\ = 64 \\ 20 + x = 64 \\ x = 64 - 20 = 44

So the other parallel side is 44 metre

Hope it will help you

Given Data :

  • Area of Trapezium Shaped Field = 480 m²
  • Distance Between Two Parallel Sides = 15 m
  • One of the Parallel Side = 20 m

To Find : Measure of Other Parallel Side in the Trapezium

Answer : Measure of Other Parallel Side = 44 m

Step By Step Solution :

➤ Let Other Parallel Side be x

  • Area of Trapezium Shaped Field = 480 m²
  • 1/2 × Sum of Parallel Sides × Distance Between Them = 480 m²
  • 1/2 × Sum of Parallel Sides × 15 m = 480 m²
  • 1/2 × (20 m + x) × 15 m = 480 m²
  • [1/2 × (20 m + x) × 15 m]/15 m = 480 m²/15 m
  • 1/2 × (20 m + x) = 32 m
  • 1/2 × (20 m) + 1/2 × (x) = 32 m
  • 10 m + (x/2) = 32 m
  • x/2 = 32 m - 10 m ⇒ x/2 = 22 m ⇒ x = 22 × 2 m ⇒ x = 44 m
