Solution :-

Let us assume that, the base of the given ∆ is equal to x cm .

So,

→ Height of ∆ = (x - 6) cm .

then,

→ Area of ∆ = (1/2) * Base * Height

→ (1/2) * x * (x - 6) = 80

→ x² - 6x - 160 = 0

→ x² - 16x + 10x - 160 = 0

→ x(x - 16) + 10(x - 16) = 0

→ (x - 16)(x + 10) = 0

→ x = 16 or (-10)

since value of base cant be negative .

therefore,

→ Base of the ∆ = 16 cm

→ Height of ∆ = 16 - 6 = 10 cm .
