The area of the triangle OAB is 14 sq. units.

In the triangle OAB , the point O is the origin , A (4,0) lies on the x-axis and the point B(0,-7) lies on the y-axis.

The triangle OAB is a right angled triangle with the right angle at O.

Area of a right angled triangle = 1/2 × base × height

base = side OA = 4

height = side OB = 7

Area of triangle OAB = 1/2 ×OA ×OB

= 1/2 × 4 × 7

= 14 sq. units
