The area of two concentric circles forming a ring are 154 and 616 sq cm . Find the breadth of the ring.​

Breadth of the ring is equal to the difference between the radius of the outer circle and the radius of the inner circle

Given the area of outer circle=616cm2

⇒πr22=616cm2

⇒r12=616×7/22=196

∴r1=14cm

and the area of the inner circle =154cm2

⇒πr22=154

⇒r22=154×7/22=49

∴r2=7cm.

∴ The required answer =r1−r2=14−7=7cm.
