SOLUTION___(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

The ratio of are of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of square of corresponding sides.

Here longest side of ∆ABC is 32cm

let the longest side of ∆DEF be xcm

=ar(∆ABC)/ar(∆DEF)= (32)^2/(x)^2

= 256/144= (32)^2/x^2

= √256/√144= 32/x

= 16/12= 32/x

= 16x= 32×12

= 16x= 384

=x= 384/16

x= 24cm

Therefore, longest side of similar∆ is 24cm.
