HERE IS UR ANSWER DEAR,

this quadrilateral is in the form of triangle and rectangle ..

so

area of quadrilateral = area of triangle +area of rectangle

area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h

to find height of the triangle

we r using Pythagoras theorem since it is a right angled triangle...

17²= 8² + x²

289 = 64 + x²

289 - 64 = x²

x² = 225

x= 15cm

therefore

=area of triangle

= 1/2 × b × h

= 1/2 × 8 × 15

= 15 × 4

=60cm²

Now area of the rectangle = length × breadth

length = 8cm

breadth = 15cm

so

= 15×8

= 120 cm²

hence

area of quadrilateral = area of triangle +area of rectangle

= 60 + 120

= 180 cm²
