Answer :

  • Sum of parallel sides is 42cm

Given :

  • The area of trapezium is 126cm
  • Altitude is 6cm

To find :

  • Sum of parallel side

Solution :

As we know that,

  • A = a+b/2 × h

where, a + b is sum of parallel sides , A is area of trapezium 126cm and h is height of altitude 6cm

From the Question :

》A = a+b/2 × h

》126 = a+b/2 × 6

》126 = a+b × 3

》a + b = 126/3

》a + b = 42

》a + b = 42cm

Hence, Sum of parallel sides is 42cm

Given :

  • Area of Trapezium = 126cm
  • Height of Trapezium = 6cm

 \\

To Find :

  • Sum of Parallel Sides

 \\

Solution :

✰ As we know that, Area of Trapezium is given by ½ × height × (sum of parallel sides) .So we will put the given values in the formula to find the sum of Parallel Sides of the Trapezium.

⠀⠀⠀⟼ ⠀⠀Area = ½ × H × (S1 + S2)

⠀⠀⠀⟼ ⠀⠀126 = ½ × 6 × (S1 + S2)

⠀⠀⠀⟼ ⠀⠀126 × 2 = 6 × (S1 + S2)

⠀⠀⠀⟼ ⠀⠀252 = 6 × (S1 + S2)

⠀⠀⠀⟼ ⠀⠀252/6 = (S1 + S2)

⠀⠀⠀⟼ ⠀⠀42cm = (S1 + S2)

⠀⠀

Thus sum of parallel sides of the Trapezium is 42cm
