Area of Square = 4 × Side = 4 × 40 = 160 sq cm.

We know ; area of square = area of rectangle.

This means Area of Rectangle = 160 sq cm.

Breadth = 25 cm.

Area = Length × Breadth

160 = L × 25

L = 160/25

L = 32/5 = 6.4 cm

Now perimeter = 2 ( L + B )

= 2 ( 6.4 + 25)

= 2 × 31.4

= 62.8 cm

Hope this helps.

Given:

  • Area of square = area of rectangle
  • Side of square = 40cm
  • Breadth of rectangle = 25cm

To find:

  • Perimeter of rectangle

Solution:

We are given the side of square. So,

Area of square = s²

Where,

s = side

Area of square = (40)²

Area of square = 1600cm²

Now,

Area of square = area of rectangle (given)

And

Breadth of rectangle = 25cm

Area of rectangle = l×b

1600 = 25l

\sf \dfrac {1600}{25} = l

64cm = length

Now,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

Perimeter = 2(64+25)

Perimeter = 2×89

\boxed {\sf {\red {Perimeter = 178cm}}}

Perimeter of rectangle:

Perimeter of the rectangle is 178cm.
