To Find :

  • Length of rectangle
  • Perimeter of rectangle

Solution :

Areas of square and rectangle are equal.

  \underline{\boxed{ \bf \: Area  \: of  \: square = \:  side  \times side}}

side of square = 40cm

Area of square = 40 × 40

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀= 1600cm²

  \underline{\boxed{ \bf \:Area \:  of  \: rectangle = length  \times  breadth }}

l × b = 1600

l × 25 = 1600

l = 1600/25

l = 64 cm

So,

  • Length of rectangle is 64cm

  \underline{\boxed{ \bf \:Perimeter  \: of  \: rectangle = 2(l + b)}}

= 2(64 + 25)

= 2× 89

= 178 cm

  • Perimeter of rectangle is 178 cm

AnswEr :

  • Length of the rectangle is 64 cm .

  • Perimeter of the rectangle is 178 cm .

Step-by-step explanation :

GivEn :

  • Area of the square = Area of the rectangle

  • Side of the square = 40 cm

  • Breadth of the rectangle = 25 cm

To find :

  • Length of the rectangle = ?

  • Perimeter of the rectangle = ?

SoluTion :

We know that,

⇛Area of the square = (side)²

⇛Area of the square = (40)²

Area of the square = 1600 cm²

Also,

Area of square = Area of rectangle

➟ Area of rectangle = 1600 cm²

Now,

⇛Area of rectangle = L × B

⇛1600 = L × 25

⇛L = 1600/25

L = 64 cm

As we know,

Perimeter = 2 ( L + B)

➟ Perimeter = 2 ( 64 + 25 )

➟Perimeter = 2 ( 89 )

Perimeter = 178 cm

\therefore Length of the rectangle is 64 cm & Perimeter of the rectangle is 178 cm .
