Given:

The areas of three flats are in the ratio 5 : 6 : 8

If the difference in the areas of flat C and flat A is 180 square metres.

To Find:

Area of the flat B

Solution:

Let the Flat be 5x, 6x and 8x respectively.

Difference in flat C and A = (8x - 5x) = 3x

Difference in flat C and A = 180 m

➠ (8x - 5x) = 180

➠ 3x = 180

➠ x = 60 m

Now, Area of flat B

➠ 6x = 6 × 60 = 360m²

Answer

Let the area of flat a be 5x

flat B be 6x and flat C be 8x

Area of flat C - area if flat A = 180m²

8x - 5x = 180m²

3x = 180m²

x = 180m²/3

x = 60 m²

Therefore

Area of flat A = 5x = 5 × 60 = 300m²

Area of flat B = 6x = 6 × 60 = 360m²

Area of flat C = 8x = 8 × 60 = 480m²

Hope it helps
