Answer: Areas of two similar triangles are 9cm2 and 16cm2. To find: Ratio of their corresponding sides. We know that the ratio of areas of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of squares of their corresponding sides. So, the ratio of their corresponding sides is 3 : 4.

Let the corresponding heights of the two similar triangles be H1 and H2 respectively.

Since the ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of the squares of their corresponding height;

9cm² / 16cm² = ( H1 / H2 )²

H1 / H2 = (√ 9 / √16 )

             =  3 / 4

Hence, the ratio of the corresponding heights is 3 : 4.
