The areas of two similar triangles are 169 sq.cm and 144 sq.cm respectively. If the
altitude of smaller triangle is 24 cm then find the corresponding altitude of larger triangle ?

since , by theorem ,

(area of larger ∆ / area of smaller ∆ )

=( altitude of larger ∆ /altitude of smaller∆) ^2

therefore, (169/144)=(h/24)^2

h/24 = √(169/144)

h/24 = 13/12

h= 13*24/12

h= 13*2 =26cm
